and the clients we’ve helped

Chatswood Place

Protecting homes and businesses
under one sophisticated system

Quick overview

In October 2018, Taylor Construction engaged us to create a single, multi-purpose system for their large development, Chatswood Place.

Our goals and challenges

Their brief was an exciting challenge: to design and install a solution that integrated a hydrant and sprinkler system with a dry fire detection and EWIS system. However, our biggest hurdle wasn’t bringing them together, but satisfying a range of different needs. The development was a five-building site that incorporated apartments, commercial spaces, restaurants, carparks and a private garden.

Key outcomes

Throughout the project, the client made many changes to the initial concept. And we made sure to adapt.

Overall, we successfully designed and installed a compliant system – that’ll protect business owners, residents and staff for years to come.

PFD Food warehousing facility

A landmark success for Force Fire

Quick overview

September 2018 saw a strong partnership between Force Fire and Frasers Property Group.

We were called in to deliver two systems for a large warehousing facility that had multiple rooms with different conditions.

Our goals and challenges

We were asked to design and install a fully-operational ESFR system for the dry goods holding store – and a pre-action sprinkler system for the 15m effective height cool room area.

The challenges? Designing a pre-action ESFR sprinkler system for the facility’s Main Freezer zone because the height of the cool room panel exceeded 9m.

Key outcomes

We were presented with design challenges, which we solved using a VK598 upright K25 sprinkler. The result was a huge success and a landmark achievement for our business.

It was the biggest pre-action system we ever installed in a warehouse exceeding 16m in effective height.

After the project, we were praised for our professionalism by the NSW Fire Brigade and Affinity Fire Engineering (our certifier).

The Reserve

The start of a long, strong partnership

Quick overview

In March 2017, we partnered with JQZ to deliver an integrated solution for their residential development.

Our goals and challenges

Our goal was simple: design and install a combined hydrant and sprinkler system to protect the residential towers and their basement car parks.

The challenges then, were incredibly quick build times, which would require exceptional rigour and commitment to meet.

Key outcomes

Despite the tight turnarounds, we were able to deliver a cost-efficient system quickly – while maintaining our usual superior standards of safety and quality control.

Our work met and exceeded expectations. So since then, JQZ has engaged us for three more projects.

BMW Sydney

Lights, systems… action!

Quick overview

We partnered with Taylor Construction in June 2017 to create new commercial and show spaces for BMW and Mini.

Blending showrooms, cafés, carparks, loading docks and more, this was a refurbishment of epic proportions.

Our goals and challenges

From the premium cars to the technology and people, we needed to develop a comprehensive fire system that suited a range of different needs.

But some of our biggest roadblocks were organising the team, service design issues and complicated finishes in the high-spec showrooms – which feature over 100 luxury cars.

Key outcomes

Even with many organisational hurdles, Force Fire came out on top.

We delivered a complete fire safety system that our client and contractors were happy with. And it was all thanks to our strong team who drove the project to completion.

What’s more, we did it quickly – and professionally.

4 Parramatta Square

Transforming Parramatta – with an iconic office block

Quick overview

In November 2017, we were engaged by Built Corp to help complete one of the largest urban renewal projects in Australia: a new commercial space in the heart of Parramatta.

Our goals and challenges

Our objective was to deliver a solution that would protect an iconic, 34-story office building in the CBD.

Like any complex project, there were a few hurdles to overcome:

  • Adapting to changes in the Australian Standard that covered main sprinkler system infrastructure design
  • Creating a precinct-wide main water supply
  • Developing Fire Brigade booster assembly for neighbouring buildings in Parramatta Square
  • Resolving sprinkler placement and smoke detection issues in basement levels
  • Catering to multiple changes to the original scope
Key outcomes

Although we faced several challenges, we met all the targets and expectations of our client and the architects. In the end, we delivered a suited to such a monumental project.

The results? We won the fit-out contract for the NSW Council tenancy as a post-contract variation.

We also developed strong relationships with Built Corp and multiple contractors, creating the foundation for future work. Finally, we gained the trust to tender, and possibly install at more locations, which are twice the size of this project.

The Chatswood

High-quality systems for a luxurious, high-rise tower

Quick overview

In October 2014, Toga Construction engaged us to design and install a combined sprinkler and hydrant system and a detection and EWIS system to protect their new multi-purpose development, Chatswood Place.

Our goals and challenges

The Chatswood is a high-rise tower close to Victoria Avenue. It features 1 courtyard, 2 private rooftops with BBQs – and 156 apartments designed by award-winning architects, Kann Finch.

Their brief was an exciting challenge: to design and install a solution that integrated a hydrant and sprinkler system with a dry fire detection and EWIS system. However, our biggest hurdle wasn’t bringing them together, but satisfying a range of different needs. The development was a 12-storey site that incorporated apartments, commercial spaces, carparks and a private courtyard.

Force Fire worked tirelessly to have all areas handed over free of defects by the required dates allowing the builder and developer to successfully move in tenants at the required times.

Key outcomes

Throughout the project, the client made many changes to the initial concept. And we made sure to adapt.

Overall, we successfully designed and installed a compliant system – that’ll protect business owners, residents and staff for years to come.

Flower Power

Protecting the seeds of today and the flowers of tomorrow

Quick overview

In November 2018, FDC engaged us to deliver safety solutions for Flower Power – a popular Sydney-based business with 10 garden centres.

Our goals and challenges

Our key objective for this project was to design, supply and install fire safety systems for Flower Power, more efficient than the time before.

The main challenge was hydraulic coordination. We were working to a condensed timeframe and programme practical completion was still achieved as requested.

Key outcomes

We were able to complete the project on time and on budget, despite issues with hydraulic coordination.

Narellan Town Centre

From one project to a long-term partnership

Quick overview

Dartwest Retail approached us in August 2018 to deliver a fire safety solution for Narellan Town Centre.

Our goals and challenges

Our objective was clear: to design, supply and install fire sprinkler systems throughout the brand-new north section of the town centre – and its south-side extension too.

A big challenge for us was integrating a new sprinkler system with a pre-existing one. What’s more, we had to fit out and coordinate our work within 50 stores at the same time.

Key outcomes

We delivered what we promised and overcame all challenges throughout.

After completing the project, we were contracted as maintenance and service providers – for the entire centre!

William Inglis Hotel & selling arena

Five-star systems for five-star venues

Quick overview

In March 2018, we partnered with FDC to deliver a reliable fire safety solution for two key commercial developments: a five-star hotel and a state-of-the-art selling arena.

Our goals and challenges

With 144 guest rooms, conference facilities, bars, restaurants, a rooftop pool and more, William Inglis Hotel was a location for luxury – which required a system that only Force Fire could deliver.

We were also required to design and install a fire safety system for the selling arena of Riverside Stables, a prime event venue in Western Sydney.

A key challenge? Solving the issues caused by the high-level ceilings in the selling arena.

Key outcomes

Our biggest achievement in this project was having the system up and running in time for the Easter Yearling Sale.

Ikea Multi-function logistics facility

A superior solution fit for a leader in Swedish furniture

Quick overview

In May 2017, we were approached by leading Swedish furniture maker Ikea to deliver a complex set of systems for its logistics facility.

Our goals and challenges

Overall, we had to design, supply, install and commission the fire sprinkler, detection and alarm systems – in the 10,000m2 High Bay Warehouse & Racks, and 60,000m2 Low Bay warehouse.

Key outcomes

The entire project was an incredible success. However, the real highlight has been forging and maintaining a strong relationship with the Ikea Construction Team.
