1 KENT STREET

Client: Kador
Location: Millers Point, Sydney
Capabilities: Fire Services Integration, Fire Protection Coordination, Fire Safety Systems
Market: Commercial

Scope of Work:

The transformation of the historic Oswald Bond Store at 1 Kent Street has created a contemporary A-Grade workplace within one of Sydney’s significant heritage buildings. Originally constructed in 1892, the refurbishment retains the character and structure of the existing building while introducing modern services and amenities for today’s commercial occupants.

As part of the extensive building services upgrade, Force Fire delivered the fire protection systems required to support the refurbished workplace. Integrating modern life safety infrastructure within a retained heritage structure required careful coordination with the existing building fabric and the broader project works.

Working alongside Buildcorp and the wider project team, Force Fire coordinated the fire protection systems to support the building’s fire safety and compliance requirements while complementing the architectural and heritage objectives of the redevelopment.

The completed project combines heritage conservation with contemporary workplace performance, including upgraded building services, new end-of-trip facilities and a rooftop pavilion. It is a strong example of how considered fire protection solutions can be integrated into the adaptive reuse of an established commercial building.
